Spring is the prone and high-incidence period of highly pathogenic avian influenza, foot-and-mouth disease and other animal diseases. In order to effectively prevent the occurrence of animal diseases, Jidong County Animal Husbandry and Aquatic Products Technical Service Center has made every effort in the past few days to do a good job in the centralized immunization of major animal diseases in spring, to escort the healthy development of the county's animal husbandry.

Zhao Jun, a cattle farmer in Donghai Village, Donghai Town, has been raising cattle for 5 years and has 10 cows at home. Don't dare to be sloppy. Recently, the village-level anti-epidemic personnel came to his house, and after carefully filling out the animal immunization record form, they vaccinated the two cows that could be vaccinated free of charge at a market price of 50 yuan each.

Li Pengfei, deputy head of Donghai Town Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station, said: Doing the spring epidemic prevention work will reduce the chance of animals getting sick. Next, We will conduct blood tests after 21 days for the animals that have been vaccinated and archived in each village to ensure that the vaccinated animals have antibodies.”

It is understood that since 2018, our province has implemented compulsory immunization in spring and autumn for the three diseases of highly pathogenic avian influenza, foot-and-mouth disease and brucellosis that are prone to occur in livestock and poultry. The funds for the purchase of compulsory immunization vaccines are subsidized by the provincial finance 90%, and the county finance pays 10%. At present, there are more than 3,800 livestock and poultry farmers in Jidong County, raising 231,000 pigs, 26,000 cattle, 28,000 sheep and 100,000 poultry.

In order to fully implement the centralized immunization of major animal epidemics in spring, since the beginning of the year, Jidong County Animal Husbandry and Aquaculture Technical Service Center Strengthen the monitoring of breeding-intensive areas and large-scale breeding farms, organize village-level epidemic prevention personnel to actively connect with farmers, establish livestock and poultry immunization files, and conduct immunization injections for livestock and poultry by zoning. According to Wang Yanzhong, director of the epidemic control center of the service center, Jidong County will be immunized this spring from March 15 to April 30. The diseases that are immunized are foot-and-mouth disease, highly pathogenic avian influenza, brucellosis and swine fever. Farm households are still the main body of epidemic prevention. In the early stage, they have conducted unified online training for 158 epidemic prevention personnel in the county. In accordance with the epidemic prevention principle of no leakage of households in the village, no leakage of animals in the household, and no leakage of needles for animals, compulsory immunization is strictly implemented in each household to ensure that animals are not missed. The immunization rate is 100%.
