What to do if a pure black chinchilla bites

2020-12-07 / 1048 Read

Most pure black chinchillas bite when the owner holds a finger to it, mistaking the finger for the owner to feed, sometimes with a tentative nibble, sometimes with a heavy bite.

How

If you are accidentally bitten by a pure black chinchilla, we can deal with it like this :

1. No wound: If the pure black chinchilla just gnawed and didn't really bite the skin, then no treatment was needed.

2. Bleeding: If the bite bleeds, first squeeze out some blood, and then wash it repeatedly with soap and water.

3. The bitten site is swollen: If the bitten site is swollen the next day after being bitten and bleeding, you need to go to the hospital for a tetanus shot.
