The coat color of Ethiopian hare is relatively dark, mainly gray and blue-gray, mixed with yellow stars, brownish khaki on the back, and irregular black spots on the back. The back of the tail and the back of the body are light khaki, light brown or white, and the rest are different shades of tan. The hair is long, fluffy and soft in texture.

The ear tips of the Ethiopian hare are black, and the ear length of an adult hare is 13 cm, which is 1 /5, the limbs are slender and strong, the hind limbs are very strong, and the strength is longer than that of ordinary rabbits, agile, timid, and good at running. The body size is much smaller than that of domestic rabbits. Generally, the body length is 35 to 43 cm, and the tail length is 7 to 9 cm. The adult hare is generally about 2.5 to 3 kg.
