The maximum length of the fishing snake is about 70~100 cm. This pale brown aquatic snake has two tentacle-like growths on its angular head. It is very easy to identify. There are no other snake species similar in appearance.

The body scales and ridges of fishing snakes are raised, and the body scales on the ventral side are thinner and smaller. Therefore, its activity on land is greatly reduced.

The body of the fishing snake takes on a rare 'J' shape when preying on fish, and it doesn't take action until the fish comes within its 'J' reach. The predation process is only a few hundredths of a second, and it is difficult for the human eye to observe clearly.
