Eastern box turtles are raised in deep water.

For the adult eastern box turtle, a 60 cm long and 45 cm wide feeding container should be used, and a smaller container can be used for the larvae. Self-entry as well, size to accommodate a turtle turning around is a minimum.

The normal living temperature for eastern box turtles is 25- 30 ℃, the most suitable temperature is between 27-28 ℃, and the Florida subspecies is slightly higher, with 29 ℃ as the best. If the larvae are raised or do not plan to hibernate, a dedicated tortoise heating plate or infrared light bulb should be used for heating, and a small thermostat should also be installed in the water tank.
