The geometric tortoise is more suitable for shallow water breeding. It is only distributed in the Cape Provincial National Park Nature Reserve at the southwestern tip of South Africa. It is a unique tortoise species in South Africa.

Geometry tortoise has high requirements for humidity and is very sensitive , as long as the humidity is too high, respiratory diseases will accompany and lead to death. It must be raised in a very dry environment, the substrate is preferably sandy soil, the temperature is about 25-30 ℃, and the food is mainly grass-fed with crude fiber. When the temperature in the wild is too low or too high, the geometric tortoise will dig caves to hide and hibernate, and it is not easy to survive in the artificial breeding environment, and it is very difficult to raise.
