Carolina box turtles have a very long lifespan, generally reaching over 100 years old, with records of up to 138 years old. Like tortoises, it grows slowly and is sexually mature at about 10 years of age, ready for reproduction. The breeding season is spring. After mating, sperm can remain in the female for up to four years, so there is no need to mate every year. From May to July, the Carolina box turtle burrows to lay eggs, which can lay more than 10 eggs each time. Incubation period is approximately 2 months. The juvenile tortoise has a large white egg tooth on the nose.

Let's look at the knowledge about its feeding. For the rearing of adult Carolina box turtles, a 60 cm long and 45 cm wide feeding container should be used, and a smaller container can be used for juveniles. If it is not beautiful, you can lay paper on the bottom of the rearing container (but it should not be smooth, preferably newsprint or straw paper) for easy cleaning, and place a shallow water tank on the corner, the height of which should be so that the turtle can enter and exit by itself. , the size can hold a turtle turned as a minimum.
