Taiwan's small-headed snake is a national protected animal

Taiwan small-headed snake has been included in the List of Beneficial or Important Economic and Scientific Research Terrestrial Wild Animals Protected by the State issued by the State Forestry Administration of China on August 1, 2000.

Taiwan small-headed snake lives in plains, In hilly and mountainous areas, it is commonly found in shrubs, rock piles, grasslands, dense and humid forests, farmland, mountain roads, vegetable gardens, and occasionally in open fields or private houses. It is active at night and moves slowly. Feed on the eggs of other reptiles.
