Many people don't understand the living environment of centipedes, so they randomly add things to the pots where centipedes are raised, but they don't need to be with centipedes! So how to feed centipedes correctly? Get up and learn.
1. Keep a quiet environment
Centipedes lay eggs and hatch in a quiet environment. Eating eggs and larvae often occurs. Generally, in the same rearing tank, the spawning time of females is inconsistent. The females that do not lay eggs often interfere with the normal progress of egg laying and hatching, and some even snatch the eggs. Therefore, before the females lay eggs, they should be reared separately, or isolated in large rearing tanks with glass slides, bottomless glasses or cans.
2. Enhanced feeding before
Centipedes do not eat or drink during hatching, and maintain their activities by consuming their own nutrients. Before laying eggs, females have the habit of eating a lot to save nutrients. At this time, the amount of feeding should be increased, and attention should be paid to adjusting the types of food, so as to encourage females to eat more and increase the nutrition before hatching.
3. Management during the fertilization period
During the brooding period, centipedes have certain responses to disturbance, vibration, strong light, and strong sound. Therefore, the breeding room must choose a quiet and dark place. It is best to install red lights indoors, and cover the windows with cloth or bamboo curtains to prevent strong light. The incubation tank in the room should be placed in advance, and once the eggs are laid, do not move easily. Do not move the shielded glass (press) casually, and do not irradiate it with a flashlight. If the humidity in the hatching nest is too low, it will affect the normal development of the embryo, so water should be added to the hatching tank in time. When adding water, it should be poured slowly along the tank wall, so that the inner wall around the hatching nest is slightly damp. When the hatching is over, because the centipedes compete for food and eat the small, the females should be removed in time or the larvae should be reared in separate broods.
4. Pay attention to stocking density
It is necessary to observe the changes of body length and body size of centipedes and then divide them into groups and pools. At the same time to prevent the centipede from escaping.
In addition, keep the feed clean and hygienic, especially the bait contaminated with pesticides must not be fed. Regular observation to prevent natural enemies of centipedes from entering the breeding pond, and timely removal of diseased centipedes.
