Taking precautions against rabbits is part of living with a rabbit. On furniture, on carpets, on curtains, and most importantly, most of the time they like to grind their teeth with wires, but that's rabbits's nature. So the wires must be hidden so that the rabbit can't find them, and the wires that must be placed outside can be put into the water pipe (which can be found in the hardware store). Run a knife through the hose lengthwise and plug the wire in.

Give your rabbit enough loving, safe, teeth-grinding toys to distract him from grinding his teeth on furniture and rugs. A cardboard box full of hay is a cheap toy box. Rabbits under one year of age will need more restricted freedom and movement than adult rabbits.
