Common sense of fish farming

1. Choose the location of the aquarium

petsnet said that the principles of raising fish are: ①Conform to the indoor landscape layout requirements. Note that it is difficult to move once placed; ② Suitable for viewing and daily management; ③ There is a power outlet nearby; ④ It is best not to be backlit, otherwise the viewing effect will be poor in the absence of light. It is best to place it in a place with bright scattered sunlight that cannot be directly exposed to sunlight, otherwise algae will easily grow; ⑤ A relatively safe and quiet place, not easy to be bumped; ⑥ If placed on furniture On the other hand, the furniture should be able to bear enough capacity and not afraid of being wet by water; ⑦The tropical fish aquarium can be considered close to the radiator to reduce the electricity consumption for heating in winter, but it should not be close to it.

2. Planning the size of the aquarium

First, it depends on the living conditions and furniture. The spacious hall with large aquarium looks luxurious. In the corner of the study and bedroom, placing a palm-sized aquarium may be more exquisite and translucent. However, for most aquarists, it may be more important to see what fish to keep and how many fish to keep. The larger the tank volume, the more water capacity, the more stable the water ecosystem and water temperature, the closer to the natural environment, and the more in line with the needs of fish. For example, to raise large fish such as silver dragon and koi, it is necessary to use a wide box with a length of at least 1 meter. For small fish, the box can be smaller, but for the viewing effect, the number is often large, and the volume of the aquarium should not be too small. In my experience, the bigger the box, the better. Of course, if the box is too large, the operation will be inconvenient, and heating in winter will consume more electricity. If the indoor layout allows, I recommend the size of the aquarium: length 80-150cm, width 30-50cm, height 40-60cm. If you are going to plant aquatic plants, the width of the tank should not be too small, otherwise it will be difficult to arrange a sense of hierarchy; the height should not be too large, otherwise it will affect the illumination of the light.

3. Buy, order or DIY

In the past, most of people's aquariums were made in glass shops or aquarium shops. Those with strong hands-on ability can also buy glass, glass Glue, etc. self-adhesive. In terms of cost, it is the cheapest to do it yourself, followed by the glass shop, and the aquarium shop is slightly more expensive. The box and the bracket of aluminum alloy and other materials are generally not more than 300 yuan. DIY may be dozens of dollars. However, with the improvement of consumption levels and the advancement of technology, many people are now willing to go to aquarium stores or department stores to buy high-end finished aquariums. As for how you add an aquarium, it depends on economic conditions.

4. Purchase related supplies

If you do not purchase finished boxes, you should also purchase necessary supplies such as filtration facilities, heating facilities, thermometers, lamps, etc. separately. If you are going to plant aquatic plants, you should also buy bottom sand, aquatic plants, and aquatic plant base fertilizers at the same time. If necessary, a CO2 supply system, dead wood, and some accessories can be purchased at the same time. But it should be noted, do not rush to buy fish!
